Martha Karua Declines to Drop Kirinyaga Gubernatorial Bid For Anne Waiguru

Narc Kenya Party leader Martha Karua has rejected calls by Mount Kenya Jubilee Youth Caucus to drop Kirinyaga gubernatorial bid in favour of former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru.

The group also wants Narc Kenya to run for the senatorial seat in Kirinyaga, fold her party and join Jubilee.

According to the Caucus group, if the former Gichugu MP agreed to the proposal,  Jubilee would support her and ensure she becomes the next Senator in the County.

Addressing the matter, an infuriated Karua stated that Jubilee should not dictate to her which elective position she should go for.

''Kenya being a democratic State gives those wishing to contest for any elective position the right to do so depending on one's wish on which seat to vie for and I wonder why this Caucus is trying to chart my political path and destiny,'' Karua said.

The Narc-Kenya leader told the Jubilee group that she was ready to face off with anyone come the August 8 Election and vowed not to dissolve her party.

''Am ready for a face off with whoever will clinch the Jubilee ticket during its primaries be it Waiguru, the incumbent Joseph Ndathi, Beadan Kagai or Eliud Wanjao at the ballot box,'' Karua stated.

Despite agreeing to support President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election, Karua has remained defiant and declined to join Jubilee.
