Mechanic Breaks Teacher's Tooth Over Phone Calls

A woman was beaten to a pulp after she failed to answer calls from her ex-husband who is a mechanic based in Westlands, Nairobi.

Lydia Nyanchama, a teacher by profession, claimed that on Sunday morning her ex-husband, Stephen Omondi, pounced on her after she came from an outing with friends.

"I had gone for an outing in Dagoretti on Saturday when he called but I did not not answer because he chased me from his house in 2014 without a clear reason," Nyanchama said.

The victim reportedly got to her house and found Mr Omondi at the door waiting to reprimand her. It was then that she was attacked, breaking her arm and tooth while sustaining several other injuries.

Ms Nyanchama claimed her ex-husband threatened to return and kill her, a threat that prompted her to seek help from Muthangari police station.

She later sought medical help from Mercy Mission hospital in Kawangware.

Mr Omondi reportedly admitted to attacking his ex-wife saying he beat her because he supports their child yet found her at a pub with another man.
