Moses Kuria in Fresh Trouble Over Fixing Ruto at ICC Remarks

NARC-Kenya party Leader Martha Karua has issued a one day ultimatum to Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, over controversial remarks he made.

Through her lawyer Gitobu Imanyara Ms Karua asked Kuria to apologize within 24 hours for associating her with Deputy President William Ruto's International Criminal Court case.

Karua held a press conference at the NARC-Kenya offices in Nairobi, where she denied accusations by the Gatundu South MP that she and other Party of National Unity (PNU) officials obtained witnesses against Ruto in the ICC case.

She stated that the statements by Kuria were 'wild and unfounded' since she had not heard of the MP before the current government was sworn in.

She also urged the Director of Public Prosecutions to launch a probe into the allegations.

“Based on Kuria’s own admission, he should be taken before the court to answer to these charges, because procuring false witnesses is a criminal offence.” said Karua

In reference to the allegations made by Kuria, Kisumu Senator Anyang' Ny'ong'o has asked the legislator to give exact details as to his involvement in the Deputy President's case.

“May Mr. Kuria be kind enough to give Kenyans more details regarding my meeting with him together with Raila Amolo Odinga.” said Ny'ong'o.

Moses Kuria is not new to controversy, as he has previously been put on the spot for making controversial statements said to be amounting to hate speech. He is currently battling a hate remarks case at the Milimani law courts.

The Gatundu South legislator is accused of making instigative comments during a rally in his constituency where he told residents to take up pangas and slash anyone who opposed the National Youth Service (NYS) projects.
