MP Rubbishes Raila Before CORD Politicians

A Member of Parliament affiliated to the Jubilee Coalition on Saturday rubbished Raila Odinga's bid for Presidency, in front of Opposition members.

Aldai MP Cornelly Serem urged mourners at a funeral in Nandi County not to waste their time voting for the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) leader.

Serem told the residents amidst jeering that voting for the former Prime Minister would not bear any fruit just like in the previous elections.

“There is no need to waste time voting for him (Raila) because he cannot win and if he wins, his votes will be stolen,” Serem was quoted by The Star.

The MP was speaking at the burial of former Nairobi City Clerk Philip Kisia's mother, which was attended by prominent politicians from Western region largely associated with CORD. They included: Paul Otuoma, George Aladwa, Musalia Mudavadi among others.

Serem added that the failure of Mr. Odinga to ascend to the highest political office in the land could not be attributed to them (politician who have supported Raila before), since the CORD leader would always be denied victory.

The former PM, who has unsuccessfully vied for the presidency three times, is seen as the potential challenger to the incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta in the forthcoming 2017 polls.
