Amani National Congress (ANC) Secretary General Geoffrey Otsotsi has accused ODM of undermining the unity of their National Super Alliance (NASA).
Otsotsi cited an earlier statement by ODM Secretary General Agnes Zani admitting that a report that was erroneously leaked to the media, revealing the NASA flag bearer, was true and valid.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the ANC official dismissed Zani's remarks maintaining that his party was unaware of the report that is said to have been authored by the technical committee.
"We are outraged and Zani ought to know that admission by ODM party that it is responsible for dirty propaganda leaks undermines the credibility and integrity of the NASA process. Zani is in error of judgment, purporting to speak for the NCC. It is only the co-chairs who are authorised to speak for NCC as a team and vouch for the authenticity of documents," he emphasised.
The Secretary General stated that his ODM counterpart's "level of arrogance" would not be entertained, further indicating that the last time the co-principals spoke on the matter, they agreed to disown the document.
The report which emerged last week revealed NASA's technical team had settled on ODM's Raila Odinga as the presidential candidate with Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper) as his running mate.
This has sparked tension in the Coalition with ANC supporters dismissing the said line up as propaganda.
They further threatened to quit the Alliance if their party leader Musalia Mudavadi is not selected the flag bearer, with similar sentiments being made by a section of Wiper leaders.
