Mutahi Ngunyi: Raila Will Trick Kalonzo into NASA but Fail to Win 2017 Election

Renowned political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has hypothesised that ODM leader Raila Odinga will use clever political tricks to lock Wiper party boss Kalonzo Musyoka in the National Super Alliance (NASA).

In his weekly video column, Ngunyi stated that Odinga has the upper hand in the Opposition coalition's race for Presidential flagbearer, adding that the entry of Musalia Mudavadi, who is believed to be the brains behind the NASA idea, may push Musyoka away.

In recognition of that fact, Ngunyi alleged that the ODM leader was working on clever but cunning tricks to ensure Musyoka remained with the Opposition team.

The political analyst claimed that the allegations that Musyoka was on his way out of the coalition were a scheme orchestrated by Odinga to make the Wiper leader appear as a traitor.

“Raila is the one who invented the watermelon tag against Kalonzo...Now he has a new scheme against Kalonzo, he wants to depict him (Musyoka) as a traitor,” one of Ngunyi’s protégé opined.

The tyranny of numbers inventor likened Musyoka’s position to that of a woman who is locked in an abusive marriage such that if the Wiper leader leaves NASA, then he will be seen as a betrayer.

However, the celebrated political analyst was quick to warn that Odinga’s candidature would fail against President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“A Raila candidature would replay the 2013 scenario. With Kalonzo and Moses Wetangula behind him, CORD managed 43% of the vote, if you add Mudavadi’s four percent, they will have a 47% and they will have failed again,” Ngunyi concluded.

Here is a video of Ngunyi’s hypothesis:
