Muthama Lands in Trouble, Risks Mass Action

Dagoretti South MP Dennis Waweru has written to the National Cohesion and Intergration Commission seeking the prosecution of Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama for what he termed as insults toward President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Waweru said that the Senator's remarks on Wednesday at CORD's rally were disrespectful and abusive to the Head of State.

The MP stated that Muthama's remarks were uncalled for as he well knew that Kenyatta was a happily married man and also a father figure.

In his speech at Uhuru Park grounds, the Machakos Senator outwardly pointed out that President Kenyatta was involved with Devolution and Planning Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru giving her special treatment compared to other executives.

Muthama demanded the President to explain why Ms Waiguru was not suspended after cases of corruption were reported in her Ministry, yet other Cabinet Secretaries were suspended over similar cases.

The Dagoretti South MP threatened to hold a public rally if legal action would not be taken against Muthama.

“If legal action is not taken we will hold a rally of all Jubilee supporters over the weekend at Uhuru Park and then march to his home to initiate citizen arrest," Waweru said.
