NARC-Kenya Leader Martha Karua's Niece, Marcia Wawira Mwangi, Passes On

National Rainbow Coalition (NARC) Kenya leader Martha Karua is mourning the death of her niece, Marcia Wawira Mwangi.

Ms Mwangi succumbed to injuries on Monday after being involved in a grisly road accident along Mombasa road.

Confirming the reports through her twitter handle, the Kirinyaga gubernatorial aspirant stated that the Fourth Year student at Daystar University did not make it out of surgery after she was rushed to Nairobi West Hospital in a critical condition.

“Marcia Wawira Mwangi, my beloved niece, succumbed today (Monday, April 24) to injuries following a road accident. She will forever live in our hearts,” Karua stated.

According to Johny Bravo – a fellow Daystar University student who accompanied the deceased to the hospital – the car Marcia and four of her colleagues were travelling in hit the rear of a trailer and rolled over.

“Marcia’s knee had been hurt badly and so the doctors decided to do a surgery on the knee. After the surgery, she couldn’t wake up. She was then taken to the ICU where she was under oxygen support but unfortunately, she couldn’t make it,” revealed Bravo.

The driver of the vehicle, Arnold Mutisya, also succumbed to injuries after the accident. One of the car's occupants is still admitted at the Nairobi West Hospital while the other two, who sustained minor injuries, were treated and discharged.

The students were reportedly returning from an entertainment joint located along Lang’ata road after the annual Daystar Star of Excellence Awards ceremony.
