The National Super Alliance (NASA) led by Raila Odinga on Saturday held a mega rally in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu county where they made several declarations.
The leaders, one after the other, took to the stage to condemn the Jubilee government accusing it of mismanaging the country by collapsing most of the sectors.
Led by Odinga, the team highlighted a number of sectors they claimed had been paralysed, declaring that a NASA government would help revive.
To start with, Odinga told a jubilant crowd that if elected into office, the Alliance would revisit the Eurobond saga in which the country is suspected to have lost Billions.
Odinga promised that under NASA, none of the leaders would have any business links with the government to avoid having a conflict of interest.
He explained that this had affected the Jubilee regime since some of the leaders had been awarding contracts to their relatives instead of deserving Kenyans.
“The youth are not being paid for their work because someone is walking around with a sack of money to dish out in fundraisers. When we take over the government, nobody will have a deal with the government to avoid a conflict of interest,” he stated.
The ODM leader further raised concern that the government had abandoned Rift Valley region which is an agricultural hub.
He promised that NASA would set aside 10% of the national budget to agriculture to ensure farmers get their rights.
On his part, co-principal Musalia Mudavadi complained that Jubilee had sunk the country into heavy debts, a menace which according to him, the Opposition would help solve.
“The country has outrageous debts. How does Uhuru expect us to survive as a country? NASA will deal with that,” he assured.
Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula, while addressing the same rally, accused the government of failing to take control of the country which had led to rampant insecurity.
The same was echoed by Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka who castigated Deputy President William Ruto for issuing a shoot to kill order on bandits attacking areas of Baringo and Elgeyo Marakwet counties.
Musyoka further indicated that they would traverse the country popularising the Alliance, including touring Jubilee strongholds such as Thika and Meru.
"We will traverse all those areas Jubilee think are their strongholds including Meru, Embu, Thika because we want an all inclusive country with NASA in leadership," he noted.
At the same time, Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama claimed that Jubilee was planning to rig the August 8 General Election, declaring that there would be no election if the plan succeeds.
The Opposition leaders were welcomed by a mammoth crowd at the 64 Stadium venue despite the region being perceived as Ruto's backyard.
