Nkaissery Announces County Commissioners and Police Commanders Reshuffle

Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery has announced a major reshuffle of County Commisioners and Police Commanders in the country.

Making the announcement alongside the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett, the CS said that the changes will help in countering terror and extremism.

He added that the changes would also help in curbing cattle rustling and in fighting the illicit alcohol menace.

To that effect, Baringo County Commissioner Peter Okwanyi has been moved to Tana River while Mandera's Alex Nkoyo has been moved to Kiambu County.

Mombasa County Commissioner Nelson Marwa has been retained at the Coast.

In a statement by the CS, the changes take effect immediately with the officers expected at their new stations on Monday.

This comes a day after the President announced alterations in the top leadership of the Police Force.

The changes saw Grace Kaindi replaced as Deputy Inspector General of Police by Joel Mboya Kitili who takes over in an acting capacity.
