Nyandarua Senator Stoned By Angry Youth

A meeting convened by Nyandarua Senator Muriuki Karue, turned chaotic after irate youth threw stones at him and his motorcade.

Karue had called for a meeting at Ol Kalou town to address allegations by the auditor general that the County could not account for millions of cash.

Barely a minute into the meeting, the youth, believed to be supporters of area governor Daniel Waithaka, started yelling at him.

When their cat calls did not deter him from proceeding with the meeting, they started throwing stones at him.

Karue and Waithaka have in the past clashed over the county's leadership.

Karue and other leaders had questioned the manner in which Governor Daniel Waithaka is running his government.

Recently, the county's Attorney George Kimani, resigned over alleged massive irregularities in the government, Citizen Tv reports.

He claimed that some tenders had been irregularly awarded by the County Government.

During the Ol Kalou meeting the youth accused the senator of calling the meeting in order to tarnish the governor's name.

The meeting had to be called off after police officers intervened, dispersing the rowdy youth.
