ODM MP's Expensive Houses to be Auctioned

An embattled ODM Member of Parliament (MP) is set to lose property worth millions of shillings to the auctioneer’s hammer.

Rangwe MP George Oner's four properties in Nairobi are set to be auctioned on June 22.

A notice from the agents, Keysian Auctioneers, confirms that all the properties are registered under the name George Oner Ogalo.

When contacted by Kenyans.co.ke, Keysian Auctioneers declined to give the reason why the properties were being sold terming the information sensitive.

“We cannot give you such information at the moment due to its nature. If the information is given out it might tarnish a person's name,” said the communication official at Keysian.

The possessions include three residential and commercial flats in Pipeline estate, a three-bedroom residential house in Ngong while another property is still under construction.

Reports indicate that the legislator earns a monthly rent ranging between Sh540,000 and Sh810,000.

The announcement comes even after the lawmaker won a two-year legal battle where he was accused of forging documents regarding a Sh1 Billion piece of land.

He was sued by prominent Nairobi businessman Benson Ritho Mureithi for making alterations to part of a 50-acre parcel of land in Embakasi.

According to Mr Ritho, the MP subdivided and allegedly sold the contested piece of land without the owners' consent.
