ODM Will Conduct Repeat Nomination in Seven Polling Stations in Suba- South on Monday

Orange Democratic movement (ODM) will conduct repeat nomination in seven polling stations in Suba- South on Monday after the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal nullified the election of the party's chairman John Mbabi.

In a statement on Sunday, the National Election Board (NEB) chair Judy Pareno stated that the primaries would only take place in seven polling station in the constituency namely, Oma, God Oloo, Koga, Mikuyu, Miriya, Kiembe and Nyakiya primary schools.

Ms Pareno further stated the nominations will take place after the tribunal issued the new order after Mbadi's rival Caroli Omondi won an appeal against him.

After losing the primaries with 11,597 votes against Mbadi's 12,365, Omondi cried foul over massive irregularities experienced during the polls and filed a complaint with the tribunal last Monday.

This comes as a blow for Mr Mbadi who had been issued with nomination certificate for Suba-South Constituency on Friday because the tight nominations deadlines set by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) prevented ODM from repeating the polls.

The party's National Elections board had upheld Mbadi's election despite his victory being nullified by ODM's Appeals Tribunal which ordered a repeat of the exercise.
