Unknown raiders broke into Pastor James Ng'ang'a's house on Friday at 3am, and made away with money and other valuables.
The suspected robbers are said to have stolen Sh500,000 and valuables of an unknown value.
Confirming the incident, Nairobi CID chief Ireri Kamwende said the robbers bulldozed their way into the house by breaking the window grills.
The CID chief said Ng'ang'a's wife reported the early morning incident. Investigations are underway.
However, a section of the police investigating the matter read mischief in the incident, saying it could be a ploy by the pastor himself to earn public sympathy after being slammed with murder charges, The Star reports.
The Neno Evalengical Ministries leader has been on a whirlpool of accusations and public condemnation after an alleged murder of a civilian in a road crash.
The pastor allegedly caused a road accident, killing a woman. He has however denied the charges.
