PHOTOS: Woman Behind Lang'ata 'Project X' Party

A foreign woman was on Friday morning arraigned in court and charged with selling drugs illegally to minors during a house party in Lang'ata estate, Nairobi.

Mary Nanyuk was accused of hosting the party and supplying unlicensed alcohol to teenagers during the party that was stopped by police officers, after being linked to the infamous Project X sex event.

The South Sudan national was also faced with charges of being in Kenya illegally, accusations which she denied.

According to the prosecution, Nanyuk hosted the teenagers in her house to celebrate her son's performance in the recently released Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination.

The suspect was remanded at the Lang'ata Police Station to allow for further probe with investigators being granted time to scrutinize the validity of her passport.

During the event that was cut short on Thursday evening, about 140 youths between the age of 14-20 years were arrested after an alarm was raised following loud music emanating from the house.

The raid was conducted after police issued warnings following reports that a sex party dubbed 'Project X' was being organised in Nairobi's Kileleshwa estate. The said party has since been banned with police remaining vigilant for any controversial parties.
