Police Find Two AK47 Guns and 43 Bullets Hidden in a House in Marakwet

Police in Tot division, Elgeyo Marakwet County have recovered two AK47 rifles and 43 bullets in the area, after a sweep operation aimed at disarming the residents in the area.

The Saturday night raid was a joint operation by Regular Police, Administration Police, GSU, Anti Stock Theft Unit and Kenya Police Reservist.

Speaking to journalists on Sunday, area police boss Emmanuel Rono revealed that the security forces who were acting on a tip off, found the firearms in a house in Embomir village.

This follows an inter-clan row over land that saw one person get killed, barely a week ago.

According to The Star, police in the area had arrested David Yego, who is suspected to be a fire arm dealer on 2nd May this year.

Police have vowed not to rest until all criminals with illegal fire arms are brought to book.
