Police Request To Get Pastor Ng'ang'a's DNA Samples Denied

A court in Limuru has refused to grant police permision to compel Pastor James Ng'ang'a to submit DNA samples for investigations into the Limuru accident that left one dead and another injured.

The court ruled that samples should have been taken before the case was brought to the court.

Prosecutors had asked the court to allow DNA samples be taken from Ng'ang'a since the nature of his case warranted it.

In his ruling on Wednesday, Senior Resident Magistrate Timothy Tanchu also ordered Ng'ang'a not to divulge any information about the case to the police or anyone else.

This came after one of the prosecutors claimed that Ng'ang'a had spoken about the case during a church service.

The court's decision which gives the televangelist a bit of a relief comes at time when his lawyer Cliff Ombeta is confirmed to have withdrawn from the case.

Ombeta said he retreated due to lack of clear directions in the case, adding that Ng'ang'a had failed to co-operate, refused to pick calls or respond to his emails.
