President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent a message of condolence to the family, relatives and the people of Kwale following the death of Senator Boy Juma Boy.
President Kenyatta described Senator Boy as an astute politician who will be remembered for his immaculate use of Kiswahili that spiced up public meetings and debates in Parliament.
The President also paid tribute to the late Kwale Senator for the role he played in advocating for the rights of workers and the growth of the labour movement in the country.
“In this hour of sorrow, I convey my deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to Senator Boy Juma Boy’s family, relatives and the people of Kwale. My thoughts and prayers are with you,” President Kenyatta said.
The Kwale Senator died at the Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi on Sunday.
According to the family, Mr Juma was suffering from high blood pressure and was in the ICU for one week.
The deceased Senator first joined Parliament as Matuga MP in 1988 when he succeeded his father Juma Boy, and later contested the Senate seat in the 2013 elections.
He retained his parliamentary seat in the 1988 and 1992 elections and also once served as the Kanu Chief Whip.
