Two men broke out of Eldoret prison in Uasin Gishu County during the early hours of Tuesday morning, injuring another prisoner in the process.
The warden says that the two, convicted of murder, cut off bars in the prison before making a run for it.
Police have launched a man hunt for the prisoners and have asked members of the public to be on the lookout.
Citizen Tv reports that the escape comes two months after yet another one where five prisoners escaped as they were being transferred in a prison vehicle from Eldoret prison to Kapsabet.
