Raila Leads Opposition Party Leaders in Major Unity Meeting at Bomas

Baringo Senator Gideon Moi is set to attend a mega meeting that has been convened by the CORD coalition leader Raila Odinga to improve unity among opposition politicians.

Moi will be there in his capacity as the KANU Chairperson and will be joined by other prominent party leaders including Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, FORD Kenya’s Moses Wetangula, Musalia Mudavadi of the Amani National Congress (ANC), Charity Ngilu from NARC, Isaac Ruto of the Chama cha Mashinani and Wavinya Ndeti from Chama cha Uzalendo.

The critical meeting will be held on Wednesday at the Bomas of Kenya and is expected to be attended by over 15,000 delegates from various opposition political parties.

The Bomas event will be a big step in bringing together political leaders who have opposed President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election in 2017.

Among the issues that will take centrestage include the agreement on the formula for picking a common presidential candidate to face Kenyatta in this year’s poll.

The controversial elections amendments proposed by the National Assembly will also be discussed during the meeting.

“What we are crafting is a serious election machine. You can see the Jubilee regime must have sensed defeat. They know there is a national fatigue. People are tired of corruption and they want to fix it once and for all,” Suna East MP Junet Mohammed stated on their search for unity.
