Residents Demand Justice For Student Raped By Teacher

Residents of Rongo in Migori county have expressed anger over what they say is justice delayed hence justice denied for a student allegedly raped by her teacher.

They stormed into Kitere primary school protesting alleged silence by the school headteacher concerning the matter.

The suspect is said to have raped a 13 year old minor in May and according to the locals, no action has been taken against him so far.

According to a report by Citizen News, the headteacher claimed that he had been away when the incident took place.

He however acknowledged having been briefed on the matter and that he was following it up.

Police say they are investigating the matter and the right action will be taken in due time.

The protests come as an increasing number of reports on teachers sexually abusing students from all over the country continue making headlines.
