Ruto's ICC Case Sparks War Between Waititu and Kabogo

Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has thrown his weight into the raging debate on the political forces behind Deputy President William Ruto's case at the International Criminal Court.

The County's boss has attacked his political rival, Kabete MP  Ferdinand Waititu for teaming up with his Gatundu South counterpart Mose Kuria, to create theories on how the ICC charges were politically instigated.

“Where are we headed as a country? Why are they coming out now? They ought to have done that a long time ago. The nation is healing while some people are opening up wounds which had already recovered,” said Kabogo.

Kabogo also criticised those attending prayer meetings for Ruto and Joshua Sang. He warned them against potentially harmful sentiments that would divide the country ethnically.

Kabogo and Waititu have been embroiled in a tussle after the latter ditched Nairobi County to pursue his political ambitions in Kiambu. Waititu had also been faulting Kabogo's administration over claims of dictatorial leadership.

Speaking in Limuru, his political backyard, Kabogo also reprimanded Opposition leaders disrespecting President Kenyatta urging them to accord the head of state the respect he deserved.

“Can't we have a smooth nation? I do not understand why these CORD politicians are always complaining. They should relax and watch how a nation is run,” he said.

The country has been thrown into a political warfare with leaders from both political divides exchanging words over the contentious ICC cases facing Ruto and radio journalist Joshua Sang.
