Senior Chief in Trouble Over Sex with KCPE Candidate

A senior Chief in Vihiga County was arraigned in court for allegedly raping a standard eight candidate.

Chief Ronald Oyando, in charge of South Maragoli is accused of defiling the 15-year-old girl at their in Masana Sub-location on October 28.

The court was told that the girl had gone to Oyando seeking school fees since her mother was unable to meet the amount.

Oyando on Friday denied the charges before Vihiga Resident Magistrate Susan Mwangi, who detained him until on Tuesday to allow for more investigations into the matter as requested by the prosecution, the Standard reports.

Cases of defilement by government administrators and law enforcers have been on the rise, raising concerns over the protection of minors if their protectors are the ones taking advantage of them.
