Sh4 Million Found Under NYS Official's Pillow

Detectives from the Anti-Corruption department were on Tuesday shocked to find Sh4 Million in cash, in a house belonging to one of the top Government Officials linked to the National Youth Service Sh791 Million scandal.

The colossal amount is reported to have been hidden under pillows in a bedroom of a suspended NYS officer.

Reports indicate that unspecified amounts of money were also recovered from safes in some homes thoroughly combed, to gather evidence that could help in the Sh791 Million NYS probe.

The operations also targeted the homes of former Cabinet Secretary for Devolution Anne Waiguru, fired Principal Secretary Peter Mangiti, suspended NYS Director Nelson Githinji, Deputy NYS Director Aden Halakhe among others.

Probing Officers discovered that the suspects had recorded incorrect statements with the raid unveiling that some of them had acquired more residential properties than what they indicated on their declaration forms.

During the operation, detectives also seized computers and various documents significant to the investigations.

Other homes targeted of Mr Henrick Polish (Principal Supply Chain Officer, NYS), Mr Simon Ndung’u (Architect, Ministry of Lands), Mr Samuel Wacheni (Director Finance NYS), Mr Noor Hassan Noor (Ministry of Devolution), Mr Dennis Kipkorir Ng’eno (Electrical engineer Public Works), Mr Samuel Odhiambo (Head of Supply Chain, Ministry of Devolution), a Mr Munywoki (Chief Accountant, Office of the President) and Mr Benson Gethi (businessman).
