Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko has moved to court seeking to have bumps on strategic places along Thika Road Superhighway removed for causing traffic snarl up.
The senator asked the High Court to order Nairobi county and the Transport Cabinet Secretary to see to the course of action.
Through his lawyer Harrison Kinyanjui, Sonko pointed out that the bumps and rumble strips at Survey of Kenya, Homeland, and on the way to Kenya Breweries are the culprits behind traffic jams during rush hours.
The bumps and rumble strips allow pedestrians to cross the road.
In the suit, Sonko asked that pedestrians be strictly limited to use footbridges instead, The Star reports.
The superhighway, has been subject to heavy traffic especially during rush hours, causing thousands of Nairobi residents inconvenience.
The case is set to be heard on August 26.
