A herdsboy was on Wednesday fined Sh200,000 by a Marsabit Court for having sex with a camel.
The 19-year-old pleaded guilty to committing bestiality on September 3 but begged for leniency saying that he was a minor.
Diba Ali, who appeared before Principal Magistrate Boaz Ombewa, was said to have been caught in the act by fellow herdsman Mr Glacha Jillo at around midnight.
Jillo told the court that he was resting after grazing livetock when he woke up to 'funny noises' and saw the defendant engaging in intercourse with a camel. He then screamed to alert neighbours who gathered at the scene and apprehended Mr Ali before taking him to the nearest Police Post.
Ali was later taken to Marsabit Police Station where he was charged for the unnatural offence.
The suspect was given 14 days to appeal the judgement.
