[VIDEO]: Pastor Ng'ang'a Locked Up in Police Cells

Pastor James Ng'ang'a was on Wednesday apprehended by police over an alleged crime that has been a hot subject in many public conversations.

The televangelist is said to have been arrested at Serena Hotel in Nairobi, after interrogation by police detectives.

Ng'ang'a was then transfered to the Gigiri police station, where he was locked up in the afternoon.

The pastor, who spent the night at Gigiri police station, is set to be arraigned in court on Thursday.

The arrest came barely a day after the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko gave the go ahead for the charging of the pastor.

Ng'ang'a has been on the spot for allegedly causing an accident at Manguo area in Limuru, that killed a woman Ms Mercy Njeri, and left her husband seriouslyinjured.

Following the DPP's directive and the consequent arrest, Nga'ng'a is set to appear in court, where he will be charged on four counts; causing death by dangerous driving, failing to report an accident, giving false information to a public officer and conspiracy to defeat justice.
