VIDEO: Sonko Supports Raila on Corruption

Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko on Monday stated that he supported Opposition leader Raila Odinga's initiative to stop corruption in the country.

Speaking in Homa Bay county at the burial ceremony of Governor Evans Kidero's father, Johnson Agango, the Senator lauded Mr Odinga for not abusing President Uhuru Kenyatta in his quest for democracy.

“I thank Honourable Raila because I have never heard him insult the President neither have I heard him calling him a thief,” he said

Mr Sonko stated that he was aware of Mr Odinga's fight against corruption, and how successful he had been.

“I have heard him talk about leaders stealing money; and when he speaks of this, the culprits are caught immediately,” said the Senator.

This comes after Mr Odinga urged President Kenyatta to expedite forensic investigations into the Eurobond millions, that are said to have been stolen by unknown persons.

Odinga together with other Opposition leaders also championed for the resignation of former Devoluton Cabinet Secretary Ann Waiguru after months of piling pressure following corrupt dealings unveiled in her Ministry.

Waiguru stepped down to take some time off, citing doctor's advice.
