VIDEO: Waiguru Talks Tough

Devolution Cabinet Secretary, Anne Waiguru, has vehemently defended herself from allegations of rampant corruption and ridiculous spending in her Ministry.

While answering questions from Journalists, Waiguru who talked tough, said that she was being wrongly accused for offenses beyond her mandate. She moved to clarify that according to the Constitution, it was not within her responsibilties to be involved in finance or procurement processes within any department.

She further stated that any purchase made was solely the work of the Ministry's Accounting Officer, but when taken to task to explain her oversight role, Waiguru said that any accounting questions were supposed to be directed to the Accounting Officer who never informed her about the price of any equipment.
