Water Vendor Wins Sh9 Million in SportPesa Jackpot

A Kajiado water vendor has pocketed Sh9.1 Million shillings after emerging among the four winners of the SportPesa jackpot prize.

In a cheque handover ceremony that was held at a Nairobi hotel on Wednesday, David Mburu, Maurice Mutuku, Philip Bagoria and Justus Nyaanga were given the Sh36 Million cheque to share among themselves.

Daniel Mburu, 29, a water vendor from Kiserian expressed his surprise at being announced as a jackpoint winner, noting how an iota amount of money had led him to clinching millions.

“The highest amount of money I have ever used is Sh200,” said Mburu.

According to Mr Bagoria, a civil servant, the luck did not come easy as he had failed a number of times adding that his win came as a result of doing research on the teams.

“I only used research, I actually never followed the game,” he said.

24-year-old Mr Mutuku, who works in a supermarket described his expertise, saying that in a total of 10 games he predicted, only one flopped and according to Mr Nyaanga, an accounts clerk from Nyabonge Secondary School, his luck was unexpected.

Speaking during the handing over of the cheques, SportPesa said the win was confirmed after the postponed jackpot game between Bastia and Nantes.

Last month's SportPesa Jackpot prize was bagged by a lady, Ms Elimah Khanaitsa, who was annouced the fifth SportPesa jackpot winner, taking home Sh22 million after spending Sh200 on two bets.
