Winnie Kaburu's Westlands Home Raided, Daughter Injured

More than 50 thugs on Friday night raided the house of a politician who gained fame during the 2013 Presidential race.

Winnie Kaburu, the running mate of the 2013 Presidential aspirant - James Ole Kiyapi - had her home in Westlands invaded by thugs armed with guns and crude weapons.

According to reports, the gang stormed her home, attacked and broke her watchman's foot. The assailants also injured Ms Kaburu daughter, who is currently admitted at MP Shah hospital.

The disputed property, located on Raphta Road, off Pilipili Drive, was vandalised in the night break in

Ms Kaburu noted that she had paid Sh14 million for the property ownership to be transferred to her but it seemed this had not been implemented.

On Saturday morning, Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko was at the scene of the incident where he sharply condemned those behind the attacked

Police officers have launched a man hunt to capture the alleged hired goons.

The incident comes days after a similar one in Westlands where about 30 men armed with pangas and rungus raided the home of an Asian family.
