Wiper Leaders Reject Kennedy Musyoka's Nomination to the East African Legislative Assembly

A storm is brewing within the Wiper Party after party leader Kalonzo Musyoka nominated his eldest son Kennedy Musyoka to the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA).

A section of Wiper MPs have teamed up with their counterparts who ditched the party to join the Jubilee party to oppose the young Musyoka’s appointment when the names are finally tabled on the floor of the House for approval.

The leaders led by Mwingi North Member Parliament (MP) John Munuve have vowed to ensure that the young Musyoka's name does not pass during the committee stage in parliament.

“I will attend the committee sittings as to oppose this appointment. Wiper should have nominated another person because Kenyans have rewarded his father with high ranking public offices,” he lamented.

The MPs further accused their party leader of being selfish by pushing parliament to approve his son's nominations to the EALA stating that it was not a wise move for him to appoint his son because their rivals the Jubilee party will castigate him on matter

Mbooni MP Kisoi Munyao divulged in the matter stating he will oppose the appointment because it does not reflect the wishes of the majority of Wiper party supporters.

“This position should have gone to one of the countless supporters who has stood with Kalonzo throughout his career as a reward for loyalty. Those behind his political ambition will feel cheated and unappreciated”  he emphasised

Meanwhile, the outgoing Wiper representative to EALA Peter Mathuki approved the young Musyoka's appointment stating that as a legal advisor he was enormously qualified having previously handled matters at the East African Court of Justice.
