Woman in 'Project X' Party is Military General's Wife

The woman behind the Lang'ata house party, where over 100 youngsters were in attendance, was on Monday released from custody following a directive from a senior judicial officer.

The officer in charge of Lang’ata police station Derrick Nyagah, revealed to the court that he was directed to free Mary Nyakuk after a revelation that she was wife to a senior Military General in South Sudan.

Reports indicate that Nyakuk was released following intervention from the Sudanese Embassy.

The South Sudan national was last week arraigned before the court for hosting a party and supplying unlicensed alcohol to teenagers.

She was also charged with being in Kenya illegally, accusations she vehemently denied.

Police raided the Thursday evening party and arrested about 140 youths aged between 14-20 years after an alarm was raised by neighbours.

The raid was prompted by a warning to the officers on a sex party dubbed 'Project X' that was being organised in the City.
