Xtian Dela Goes Missing After Police Arrest

Popular blogger Xtian Dela on Thursday went missing shortly after he was arrested by police officers in Nairobi.

A post on Dela’s twitter account announced that he had been arrested at Yaya Centre because of Vlogging (blogging through videos).

He did not provide further details on why he was apprehended.

A friend to Dela, identified as Marcus, confirmed to Kenyans.co.ke that the blogger had indeed been arrested but explained that he was unaware of what happened after the arrest that was angrily received by social media users in the country.

His colleague and fellow social media influencer, Cyprian Nyakundi, tweeted that Dela had called to inform him of his arrest before he went offline.

Vlogging has become a popular way of documenting daily social experiences across the world.

Apart from the constitution that guarantees the freedom of expression, there is no elaborate legal framework that establishes the guidelines on Vlogging in Kenya.
