President Uhuru Kenyatta Explains Reasons Behind High Food Prices

President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto have acknowledged that food prices have skyrocketed in the four years since they took over office but insisted that Kenyans would reap benefits in the end.

The President admitted that Kenyans are right to require him to demonstrate how his administration has brought progress.

He explained that the initiatives started by his administration were investments with long term returns noting that all good investments take time to mature.

"We know that Kenyans have not yet felt the full impact of our investments, but we ask them to give us an opportunity to continue with what we are doing, so that in time, they will feel the full impact.

"And we are investing in order for Kenyans to reap. We ask Kenyans to give us an opportunity to continue, so that we can unify our country; so that we can secure our country," the President urged.

President Kenyatta launched a public information portal where details of the Jubilee administration investments for the last four years can be traced and shared. The portal will showcase various National Government programs and projects across the country.
