Details of Where Nicholas Biwott will be Buried After Funeral Service

Kenyans.co.ke has caught wind of a rare instruction that has been issued to guests planning to attend the funeral service for the late former Minister Nicholas Biwott.

Those intending to be at the former Minister's graveside will have to decipher directions to the site that have been conveyed in a military-style, map coordinates system.

A funeral programme seen by Kenyans.co.ke contains a footnote that reads: "For directions to the Funeral please input the following coordinates in maps.google.com."

It goes on to give the exact location as N 00 30 03.32, E 035 30 53.08 reminding guests to ensure the location service on their devices is on when finding the directions.

A Google Maps search of the coordinates showed a seemingly empty field a few metres away from what can be assumed to be the venue of the service, the Maria Soti Girls' Centre.

The venue is 322 kilometres, a six-hour drive from Nairobi via the Nairobi - Nakuru Highway or a 40-minute chartered flight one way.

Alternatively, drivers can use the Narok Road which will take them about eight hours to cover the 390-kilometre distance via the route.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 20 in Elgeyo Marakwet County, Kaptarakwa Ward and will be presided over by the Africa Inland Church (AIC) Kenya Overall Bishop Dr Silas Yego.

Ms Esther Koimett, Biwott's daughter, who broke the news of her father's death will have the privilege of reading the late minister's eulogy.
