Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wa's Home Raided

Kikuyu Member of Parliament Kimani Ichung'wa's home was raided on Thursday night.

Suspected robbers broke into the lawmaker's house in Kikuyu, stealing a CCTV monitor after vandalizing the house.

Confirming the raid, the legislator stated that the robbers only made away with the monitor equipment after doors failed to open and also failed to pass electronics through the window grills.

The robbers are noted to have also broken into the 'safe' but were unable to steal any valuables except for the title deeds and certificates.

It is reported that police are yet to make any arrests claiming that they are pursuing the suspects.

This comes at a time where there has been a public outcry from residents of Kikuyu, Kabete, and parts of Dagorretti over house robbery and petty burglary where thieves riding on motorcycles are terrorizing them.

In 2016, the lawmaker revealed to Kenyans.co.ke that there was a criminal group which was planning to assassinate him.

The gangsters, who had initially pretended to have been visitors at his home started sending the MP death threat messages.

Ichung'wah then expressed that it all started on May - same year - when the three suspects, in a hired taxi, followed him as he headed to his Kikuyu home.

Following the turn of events, the legislator wrote a statement at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations in Kikuyu area, which was also copied to Cabinet Secretary for Interior and the President.
