Jamila Mohamed Leaves NTV

Top NTV Swahili anchor Jamila Mohammed has left the media house.

The TV anchor broke the news of her departure on Wednesday night during NTV Jioni where she announced that it was her last show.

Jamila was among the longest-serving anchors at the media house having joined in 2002.

During her stay at Nation Media Group, she also served as the Managing Editor of QTV before the station was shut down.

Jamila was currently serving as the Manager Programming and Content Development at NTV Kenya before her exit.

Her departure comes barely two weeks after NTV General Manager Linus Kaikai left Nation Centre bringing a close to his nine-year tenure at the station.

Addressing the staff at the NTV Newsroom, Kaikai did not indicate circumstances under which he was departing but instead dwelt on his stay at Nation Media Group (NMG).

NMG also lost Muthoki Mumo on Wednesday barely a week after it was reported that senior reporter Mugambi Mutegi was also on his way out to join the Competition Authority.

Muthoki was previously a freelance journalist before joining NMG in November 2011 where she used to write about technology and telecommunications.
