NASA Supporters in UK Declare Their Support for Raila Odinga

National Super Alliance (NASA) supporters in the United Kingdom have declared their support for Raila Odinga's unity pact with President Uhuru Kenyatta

Through their Secretary General Ali Abdi, the NASA-UK group stated that they applauded the move by the ODM leader to work together with the Head of State for the development of the country.

"As Raila diaspora supporters we are keen to support him as the country needs to be united. We stand with Raila and heed to his leadership direction.

"How else can the country be united unless the right leaders participate? The outcome of the right, bold and now famous Uhuru-Raila handshake will be felt soon. The dissenting voices are from suspect quarters,” Abdi told the Standard Digital

Speaking from his NASA UK office in Hayes, Abdi mentioned that it is normal for the pact to receive backlash following a tough electioneering period.

Additionally, he noted that the coalition supporters in UK are optimistic that the new-found peace with the Uhuru-led government is not a raw deal as Raila was key in healing and bringing unity across the country.

"As for us, we are supporters of Raila and it is our decision to give total support unequivocally to Raila”, he mentioned.

NASA supporters have in the past held numerous demonstrations in London to agitate NASA agendas and also to raise funds to support initiatives in Kenya.

Their statement comes in amid tension from politicians across the political divide who are pushing to see the fulfillment of the promises made by the Supremos.

There has since been a disquiet and uncertainty that has clouded what is to follow the handshake, leaving Kenyans and leaders alike in a limbo.
