Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris on Tuesday narrated how she narrowly escaped an attack where rowdy youth chased her car in Nairobi.

Via her social media, Passaris explained that she had attended a civic education forum in Dagoretti North organized by the Ministry of Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs.

"On my way out, the rowdy youths hoped on bodabodas, three to four on each, and chased my car all in the way into the City in a large convoy that paused a danger to other road users," she conveyed.

"I got a message from my security warning me not to come because some youths had planned to disrupt our meeting unless I gave them handouts.

"But I was adamant that I would not give any money and that our activities would go on as planned.

She, however, issued a disclaimer noting that not all youth perpetrated the habit: "The turn-out was incredible and I enjoyed interacting with the local residents," she stated.

This is not the first attack that Passaris has survived. During the 2017 election campaigns, she claimed that goons attacked her and her bodyguards at the University of Nairobi.

At the time, Passaris narrated how the group roughed her up together with the aides after she declined to give the Sh 150,000 demanded.

According to the aspirant, they snatched her bag and went on to vandalise her car, breaking the door handles, side mirrors and threatening to burn it.
