State House Secretary Digital, Innovations & Diaspora Communications Dennis Itumbi who had been accused of having an affair with Citizen TV’s Jacque Maribe has spoken hours after the presenter posted photos of her engagement party.
Maribe’s boyfriend only identified as Joe Jowi on Saturday, June 30 went on his knee, proposed and earned a "yes" at a posh hotel in Nairobi.
A number of media personalities attended the engagement party. Her friends Shix Kapienga, Terryanne Chebet and Monica Kiragu witnessed the event whose proceeds the celebrated TV personality shared on her Instagram page.

After the engagement, Itumbi expressed his desire to attend Maribe’s wedding in his reply to the post on the engagement party. The two had a rare chat on the invite request, but Maribe referred Itumbi to her unveiled lover.

Itumbi: “May Laughter fill your path. May you Live to enjoy life and share the beauty of your love with Jowi. Congratulations buddy!”
Jackie Maribe jokingly inferring to earlier criticism targeted at Itumbi replied saying: “Thanks Dennis. I hear you are allegedly serving pilau soon and that you were allegedly linked to me.”
Dennis Itumbi: “Jacque am telling you. Niko kwa Line-up au sio (I'm I on the line-up or not)?”
Jacque Maribe posed: “Ebu we (Let us) ask Jowie Jowi, at this rate but seriously when will this joke that we were apparently a couple ever end?”
Itumbi went on to debunk claims that he had been dumped by the presenter. However, he noted that he would not be concerned about the clams.
“When people create their own Facts, believe them and keep a story going, so convinced about our alleged love and now its end…you just smile and live on. Now the current narrative is that you dumped me…if that is what it takes for people to let go the false hype. So be it. Let’s accept you dumped me buddy. Now, let’s do justice to the moment. Congratulations my Friend. It is about you. Congrats. I salute!” concluded Itumbi.

Maribe during the weekend wrote: “I get to ‘do life’ with my best friend, my teammate, my partner everything!!! You make life absolutely beautiful, every single day. To us, Jowie Jowi #LoveLivesHere.”
Not long ago, Itumbi had sent Jacque Maribe a birthday cake to a live broadcast session at the Citizen studios which sparked suspicions that the two were dating. Itumbi even wrote a sweet message to her through his Facebook page.
