Governor Okoth Obado to Host DP Ruto During Migori Tour

Migori governor Okoth Obado is set to host Deputy President William Ruto on Monday in Migori.

The Director of Communication for Migori County Nicholas Anyuor confirmed the trip and that all the arrangements for the visit had been finalized.

"We are all set to receive the DP for the development tour," stated Anyuor.

The Deputy President will tour both Migori and Homa Bay Counties to commission government projects.

Ruto will make his first stop over in Karachuonyo Constituency in Homa Bay, where he is set to unveil electrification projects which are part of the Last Mile Connectivity programme.

The DP will then head to Migori where he will be received by Obado and Suna West MP Peter Masara as he launches the construction of the tarmac road between Masara and Muhuru beach.

He will further hold a public address at Masara trading centre after instigating the street lighting at the center.

Obado's public appearance will be the first one since his return to work after being granted bail in the murder case of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.

The embattled governor held meetings with his senior officer who briefed him over the performance of their departments during the time he was unavailable.

The politician, who had been detained for 34 days, also made changes to his cabinet with certain officers moved due to corruption charges.
