Kenyan Tycoon Kamlesh Pattni Speaks of Arrest

Kenyan tycoon Kamlesh Pattni on Tuesday denied claims of being arrested while in Zimbabwe.

Reports had indicated that Pattni, together with his aides, were arrested by the Zimbabwean police for allegedly being in possession of millions of dollars while boarding a plane to Dubai a week ago.

The controversial businessman disregarded the claims and stated that they were false.

"Vengeance is to God.

"If they are peddling lies, it is up to them," remarked Pattni.

The exact amount of money was however not established.

Charity Cheramba, who is the Zimbabwe police spokeswoman, had confirmed Pattni's arrest as reported by the Star.

"Yes he was arrested but was released," stated Cheremba.

The embattled tradesman in October lost Ksh 9.4 billion claim in a case against the Kenya Airports Authority.

Pattni, who once contested for the Westlands parliamentary seat during the 2007 General Election, had filed a petition seeking compensation of the money after he was forcefully evicted from JKIA where he claimed some of the property had been destroyed during the process.
