Governor Obado Arrested Again

Migori Governor Okoth Obado was arrested again on Wednesday over the 8 guns found in his home.

This followed a raid by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) detectives on his homes on Tuesday.

Five of the firearms were recovered in Nairobi while three were recovered at his home in Uriri, Migori County.

The sleuths combed his office and three homes in what was said to be investigations into alleged questionable tenders totalling over Kshs2 billion.

Backed by Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives, the EACC officers ransacked Obado's homes in Nairobi and Migori, before moving to his office at the county headquarters.

Reports indicate that Obado was moved to the Nairobi area DCI headquarters where he is currently being interrogated.

The officers allegedly took away several documents and files from his office and homes which could possibly aid in the ongoing investigations.

After a five-hour search, the detectives were spotted at a bank in Migori town where they reportedly spent another hour probing the transaction details of the county bank accounts.

The documents the detectives were seeking include bank statements, bank slips, tickets and county's tender-related documents.

Obado is out on a Ksh5 million cash bail after being charged in the murder of 7-months pregnant Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.
