Shaniqwa Quits KTN to Concentrate on New Projects

Comedian Kevatin Muthaka, popularly known as Shaniqwa, has revealed the reason why he is exiting Kenya’s Television Network (KTN)

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, the Comedian revealed he is working on two projects and that he found it hard doing that while co-hosting Life and Style with Mary Mwikali.

Shaniqwa further divulged that one project will be curated for television and the other for video sharing website YouTube but failed to identify them due to contractual obligations.

“I have my own projects but I couldn’t have done them while still in Life & style. I can't disclose right now but my fans will just know, I will post them on social media," he told this writer on the phone.

He is developing new shows where he will be a producer and has had meetings with several other co-producers.

“I am working on two projects, one as Shaniqwa and the other separate. My projects will mostly be online,” he continued.

Mwikali disclosed Shaniqwa’s intention to leave the station through a post on social media praising the comedian’s cheerleading and criticism skills on the set.

Your humour and creativity oh so Vibrant and contagious. A support system that every colleague needs at the workplace. You are treasured.” she posted.

The comedian rose to fame after appearing on KTN’s comedy, Jameni, in 2014. He has co-hosted Life and Style for two years.

KTN has also seen top anchors and reporters leave the station including Betty Kyallo, Yvonne Okwara and Sports Anchor Abduller Ahmed.
