Kiambu County Majority Chief Whip Elijah Njoroge Njore has resigned from his position in the assembly.
Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, the Biashara Ward Ruiru MCA indicated that he made the decision to safeguard the interests of Kiambu residents.
In the resignation letter addressed to the Majority Party Leader in the county, Njoroge cited unresolved issues pertaining the County Assembly and the County Executive as the reasons behind the move.
"For the unity of the County Government of Kiambu and to uphold my dignity and integrity, I hereby tender my resignation as the Jubilee Majority Party Whip.
"I wish to thank the Jubilee Party Members for the opportunity to serve and the support extended to me during my tenure in office," he wrote.
Majority Chief Whip has exclusively told Kenyans.co.ke that he has been uncomfortable with the recently introduced Finance Bill in Kiambu County which doesn't favour Wanjiku at all.
According the MCA, the Finance Bill has seen things like planning costs in Kiambu County go up.
Over the past months, there has been trouble in Kiambu pitching the County boss Ferdinand Waititu against other leaders including his deputy James Nyoro and Woman Representative Gathoni wa Muchomba.
One of the major controversies has been the fate of the 8,000-acre land belonging to Del Monte Kenya following the expiry of the leasehold.
