Meet Kenyan Who Promised Tanzania Ksh18 Billion in 3 Days

Brian Mutembei is the man behind the Kenyan firm, Indo Power Solutions, that promised to pay the Tanzanian government Ksh18 billion for cashew nuts.

The money was to be wired in three days in a deal signed in February 2019 to buy 100,000 tonnes of cashew nuts from Tanzania.

The deal was however cancelled after the firm failed to raise the required amount of money.

Mutembei is a flamboyant businessman who is well known in political circles.

During the 2017 campaigns, Mutembei was known for his generous donations and grand lifestyle.

He would travel in Choppers or in a convoy of high-end vehicles.

He was mostly flown by Captain Apollo Malowa the pilot of the ill-fated helicopter that crashed into Lake Nakuru in 2017.

One of the greatest beneficiaries of Mutembei's generosity is Meru MCA Elias Murega.

Mutembei was a frequent visitor to the MCA’s youth projects such as football tournaments and workshops for upcoming local artists.

Brian was also part of the star-studded ceremony during the graduation of Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko’s daughter, Saumu, at her father’s estate in Machakos County two years ago.

One of the dailies reported that Mutembei gifted her with Ksh 250,000.
