Police officers have arrested four suspects who are believed to have stolen a Toyota Land Cruiser V8 at Central Police Station.
The four carjackers have been identified as Zachariah Maina, Stephen Ndungu, Francis Karuthi and James Kamau.
The vehicle, which allegedly went missing on April 7, 2019, was recovered from a corrugated iron-sheet structure in a house in Ngong, Kajiado County.
"#FlyingSquad Detectives, acting on intelligence, today carried out an operation on a private house within Ngong area and arrested 4 suspects in connection to an organized crime in which vehicles are stolen, dismantled & spare parts sold.
"Vehicles replaced with other spare parts and sold," the Director of Criminal Investigations(DCI) tweeted.
Police officers stated that the vehicle was initially white in color, however, it was repainted to black.
Reports indicated that the suspects intended to change the vehicle number plates from KCL390P to KBX 449A but were not able to do so in good time.
The owner of the vehicle is yet to be established.
