NTSA Revoke 51 Driving School Licences

The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) on Thursday revoked licences of 51 driving schools for failing to comply with the Traffic Driving School rules.

In a press release, NTSA cited that its aim was to weed out driving schools operating without meeting the set requirements.

"The documents submitted by driving schools are being assessed to establish their compliance," read part of the release.

NTSA stated that it is mandated to oversee the training, testing and licensing of drivers, formulate and review the curriculum of driving schools.

While implementing it's mandate, the transport authority stated that it undertook a Driving School revalidation exercise in order to access compliance with the Traffic School Driving rules.

However, some of the driving schools failed to comply with the directive of the authority warranting to their driving licences being revoked and access to the NTSA Driving School portal deactivated.

Some of the counties affected are; Nairobi, Embu, Kisii, Kisumu, Kakamega, Mombasa, Meru, Nakuru, Garissa, Thika, Kiambu, Bungoma, Murang'a, Eldoret, Marsabit and Machakos County.
