How Ruto Will Become President in 2022 - Analyst Herman Manyora

Political analyst Herman Manyora has declared that Deputy President William Ruto is well on course to become Kenya’s 5th president, should he trounce President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga in the upcoming referendum.

Speaking on his YouTube channel Take it Or Leave It, Manyora was of the view that Ruto’s victory was going to happen in two phases.

According to him, the first phase will include Ruto exploiting the challenges that the referendum push was likely to face.

Manyora pointed out that the referendum topic was already not resonating well with most of the public.

He also noted that the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) team was facing credibility issues and did not inspire confidence among Kenyans.

Furthermore, Manyora divulged that the proposal to change the structure of devolution may work against him since the governors and county reps may oppose the idea, which according to them, may mean having to lose their seats.

Manyora added that Ruto was a master campaigner and also generous with his resources, unlike his opponents.

In phase two, the University of Nairobi lecturer disclosed that if the Raila- Uhuru team failed to deliver the referendum, then Ruto would automatically get the psychological advantage of leaders who were still seated at the fence.

More so, a lot of his supporters who were 50-50 about voting for him would definitely get the confidence to support him.

“The psychological boost will start a momentum that you will not manage,” Manyora cautioned.

Furthermore, Manyora stated that in the absence of the office of the prime minister and other positions that were to be created, the Raila-Uhuru team’s game plan would be dead on arrival.
